Composer and conductor Victoria Bond is the founder and director of Cutting Edge Concerts New Music Festival. CEC has been called "a full-throttle commitment to contemporary music" by Chamber Music America, and "a gift to New Yorkers thirsty for new sounds" by Time Out New York. Now in its 20th season, highlights of the 2017 festival include the Eroica Trio (April 3) featuring works by Paul Schoenfield, Bruce Wolosoff, and Kevin Puts; Taka Kigawa and the String Orchestra of New York City (April 24), featuring music by Richard Carrick, Victoria Bond, and Zosha Di Castri; and the Cygnus Ensemble (May 1), in a program titled "Offbeat Operas" with works by William Anderson, Frank Brickle, Eric Salzman, and Victoria Bond.
